Biography
David Okafor joined WAFS in 2016 after serving as CFO at a Seattle-based SaaS company he helped grow from 12 employees to a $40 million acquisition. That inside-the-business experience gives David something rare in the accounting world: he understands what financial leadership looks like from a management chair, not just an auditor's desk.
Before his time in industry, David spent nine years at a regional firm focused on business valuation and transaction advisory. At WAFS, he leads the Business Advisory & CFO Services practice, providing fractional executive leadership to founder-led and family-owned businesses scaling past $5 million in revenue.
He holds the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) credential through the AICPA and has provided expert valuation testimony in mediation and litigation contexts. His approach to financial reporting is uncompromising: he believes founders should be able to explain their margins to a board member clearly, confidently, and without hesitation.
He serves on the advisory board of Seattle SCORE and speaks frequently on business valuation and exit strategy for ProVisors groups throughout the Pacific Northwest.
"Most companies don't need a full-time CFO until they cross $20 million in revenue. But they need CFO-level thinking the moment they take outside capital or prepare for a transition. We fill that gap."
